In-person public participation returns to City Council Meetings

After being shuttered in March 2020, when Covid took hold of our day-to-day lives, last week’s City Council Meeting was once again open to in-person public participation.

“It was so refreshing to have the public join us in the Council Chamber,” said Councilmember Larry Agran. “I truly welcome each and every person testifying and otherwise participating in our Council Meetings, as so many did last week.”

The next City Council Meeting is Tuesday July 13, 2021 at 4pm.

Anyone who would like to participate virtually can continue to do so by utilizing Zoom and providing comments through the City’s Ecomment feature or by email. Meetings can be viewed live online at cityofirvine.org/ictv or on Cox Cable channel 30 and AT&T U-verse channel 99.

Councilmember Agran reminds constituents that testimony is welcome on all topics, even those not on the agenda. For specific items on the published agenda, testimony will be called for after the item has been introduced for discussion. For items not on the agenda, Public Comment will be called for at 6:30pm or just prior to the Meeting’s adjournment, whichever comes sooner. Please note, testimony on items that were already before the City Council or that will come before the City Council later in the meeting will not be permitted during Public Comment.
